The tree is decorate, the presents are wrapped. The ham has been picked up and the dinner menu has been finalized. The car has been gased, bags have been packed, and we are ready for Christmas Eve with my family.

However, until then, you will find my ass glued to the couch with knitting needles in my hands. Our TiVo was delivered today. I look forward to many a year of the 9pm programming that I miss while putting the child down and never having to watch another one of those annoying Helzberg Diamond commercials again. Dear god, how did I ever get along without it?

We've got a Windoze Media Center machine (just put a second tuner, in, so now we're completely ruled by television). Life seemed so, oh, bleak and medieval before it. Sometimes I find myself almost missing the commercials, though.
